About Me15 Years in Photography
Hi, I’m Jenna!
Welcome to my little corner of the internet, where whimsy and wonder meet authentic connection and everyday glimmers are caught through my lens and turned into art for your hearts to cherish.
I am a Wedding and lifestyle portrait photographer with over 15yrs experience in capturing all of life’s precious moments, big and small.
I am inspired by nature. Wild forests, rushing rivers, mountain tops and by the beautiful loving connections we share with our loved ones. I am Mother to four fantastically fun and feral children, who have been my inspiration and little muses.
I love creating timeless and beautiful memories for my clients! Take a look around, I hope you enjoy this little peek into the whimsical world that I’ve created with my wonderful clients. Thanks for being here. Stay weird friends!
More then just a photographer…
Building relationships with my clients through the art of photography has been the BEST part of this journey. I feel so grateful to be asked back into the lives of my devoted community of clients time and time again, many of whom have become so much more than photography clients. I want to Thank YOU for being here and thank my clients who have always supported me and who light up my camera and fill my heart with joy. You guys make this all possible for me and I’m so grateful.
The La Loba Community
La Loba comes from Mexican Folklore and means Wild Wolf Woman. She is the Earth Mother who wanders the world. It embodies my own divine feminine spirit as well as my close relationship with the wilderness.
Through photography, I strive to use natural light and settings to create dynamic photographs that represent your unique lifestyle. Join my community of wild women, and let’s capture lasting memories together. Together, we can create beautiful art that tell your story.
Q & A
Meet your Photographer
What inspired you to become a photographer?
I fell in love with photography when my Uncle gave me my first camera for my 12th bday. I was obsessed with capturing my friends and family on film and video. And loved to take pictures of sunsets and oceans. I studied film photography and journalistic art but my passion went to the next level when I became Mom.
What's your favourite pizza topping?
Jalapeno, mushroom, and feta! Variety is the spice of life, and a little extra cheese always puts a smile on my face.
What is your favourite part about photography?
I love capturing organic moments and turning them into cherished pieces of art for my amazing clients. Being able to provide for my family through artistic expression and creativity is also really fantastic!
What was the highlight of your career so far?
Every year just gets better and better around here and I know there are so many more awesome moments to come. But the awe inspiring experience of photographing babies being brought into the world has got to be the biggest highlight of my career. Women’s bodies are incredible and being witness to that powerful strength and beauty far exceeds any other experience as a photographer for me. It is such an honour to be asked to attend the birth of a tiny human.
Something people might not know about photography?
Photography to me is more about observation then it is about a techniques or fancy equipment. It has little to do with WHAT we see and everything to do with HOW we see it. I see beauty and love and light all around, in the sunbeams through the trees and in the contrast of the shadows. In lifestlye and Wedding photography it is about being a witness to authentic human connections and capturing those precious moments in time.
Where is your favourite place to shoot?
I love shooting in warm low evening light, also known as the ‘golden hour’. I love working in nature, by the water, on trails, but I am happy to shoot in parking lot if I can get into that beautiful Golden setting sunlight! I am also honoured to asked into the homes of my clients for more intimate sessions.
